Wow!! I have to say, I only really went to see how bad of a job they did with the book. In my opinion, some books are just better left alone. When I sat down to watch it, I had no expectations. I was expecting it to be terrible. I was pleasantly surprised! Aside from the fact that there were some parts that could have been done better and there were parts that were added, the jerky movements and the hand-held camera effect worked very well. One must remember that the book is written from her point of view, so there was that element that was reinforced by the jerkiness of the camera movements. Sure, it was not as good as the book. But, it was funny and quite intriguing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
