Not bad but not great

I have to be honest and tell you I read the book as it was a gift from my niece.
I was surprised that I enjoyed the book as i am a huge vampire genre fan but thought it would be to OC for me.
The movie however while I did enjoy it I think left a little to be desired. I think the book was more powerful and if you had not read it the movie lacked real power. I know you have to fit alot into a little time restraint but I think the story line got lost .
I think the characters suffered as you didn't really get to know them or their relationship to one another. You just got glimpses of the underbelly which was not enough.
I give it about 3 stars out of 5
