If you are a fan of the book, inevitably you will appreciate having seen the movie. Be forwarned, however, that the dynamic and tension that you feel when reading the book is not portrayed very well in a two-hour screen session. The development of the characters is lacking and most of the characters that are worth watching are not the main characters at all. You find yourself laughing at times when it was meant to be serious and giggling at the complete akwardness of the interaction between characters. Overall, worth seeing if you are a twi-hard fan and want it under your belt but not really so great for the poor spouse you decided to drag along.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
