Good movie, but expected more

The main characters did a good job, but it felt like there was an important element missing throughout the movie that I couldn't pinpoint. It moved so fast that I felt like the characters didn't really connect with each other. Hollywood added a great deal more violence and sex than necessary and many of the previews shown before the movie are not appropriate for the younger readers. I wouldn't have gotten what was going on if I hadn't read the books. After the movie was over, I thought it was a good movie--I'm glad I saw it once, but the overall feeling of dissatisfaction of missing elements, unnecessary violence and sex, and lack of closure would keep me from recommending it to a friend or family member.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
