Watched it with my 11 and 14 years old sons...they enjoyed it quite much, and were not bothered by some "uneasy" scenes... It is so much better than some freaky movies they are exposed to so often. I am glad we saw it all together.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I agree with some reviews that the beginning can be a little scary and surprising for the youngest ones but overall, we enjoyed it very much (both parents and young teenagers). Very nice for the end of year Season. Plenty of warm friendship feelings.
