As previously stated, read the book first. You won't get much out of it otherwise, and you will probably be confused a lot. It moves very fast, and you have to read the book to understand the motivations behind Edward and Bella's relationship. The film makers followed the book SO well. All the crucial points were there. Tons of the dialogue was straight from the book. Everyone looks incredible. Visually very entertaining. I got a lot more out of the second viewing. Once I knew what to expect, I appreciated and enjoyed the film much more.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
