Stunning effects, weak story

The world created for this film is stunning in IMAX 3-D. The sense of depth created by the 3-D is amazing and best of all, some of the gimmicks of many 3-D movies are not to be seen here. You feel immersed in this world in a way I have not experienced. (I have loved 3-D since the 1950's). The story is somewhat weak and not nearly as innovative as the ambiance created. I would also recommend watching the HBO "Making of Avatar" to get a sense of how difficult it was to make this film. Definitely a worth see, but see it in IMAX 3-D to really enjoy it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
