This was the first time I'd done a PPV event in a theater, and loved it! It was almost like being there, with all the other people in the theater yelling and cheering for their fighter. My only complaint had to do with the theater. The theater had the start time set as a full hour before it actually began, and even when I called to confirm, they insisted they were correct. It would be nice if AMC in Columbia, MD could get their information right.
I enjoyed the first movie, but thought it was just OK, so I was a little skeptical about this one. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. While I felt Amy Adams' performance was a little over the top, and Hank Azaria, as always, took things a little too far, overall it was a very entertaining film. Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller managed to deliver very funny performances, and the monkeys again stole the show. I went to see it with my 16 and 20 yr olds, and they both loved it.
I was never a huge Star Trek fan, but the trailers for this one caught my attention, and I wasn't disappointed. The special effects were awesome, but beyond that, the acting was really top notch. Chris Pine nailed Kirk's swagger and threw in just enough comedy to keep my interest.
