If I had never read the books, I probably would have LOVED the movie...in fact I am almost positive that I would have loved the movie, but I have read the books. There were scenes added to the movie that were not in the book and scenes deleted from the movie-that were in the book. I realize that to make the movie better, they had to do that, but I felt the chemistry between Bella and Edward was more prevalent in the book. Overall....I would say READ the book over seeing the movie-if you want to BETTER version of the story...although the movie was good too.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
