Overall, the movie was very well done. The cinematography was excellent, the acting was wonderful, the script was very good, and the translation from book to screen was first rate. Chris Weitz did a wonderful job of capturing Bella's torture at losing Edward, and her burgeoning friendship with Jacob.
Kristen Stewart played a wonderful Bella, and really grew into the role since "Twilight." Taylor Lautner was amazing as Jacob; I can't imagine anyone doing a better job. Rob Pattinson was wonderful in the (fewer than I would like) scenes that he had. Billy Burke was the perfect Charlie, and Edi Gathegi was superb as Laurent. I only wish we'd seen more of Gil Birmingham and hope we see more of him in Eclipse.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
