Nothing Like the Holidays was something of a culture shock until I realized that it represented all families . . . Puerto Rican or not. Granted, some of the cultural humor escaped me, but I was touched by the struggles and ultimate revelations that a close knit family must endure. It teaches that we should not jump to conclusions, accept people for who they are, not who we want them to be. Family is precious in all shapes and forms . . . value each individual for their uniqueness . . . they will not always be there, but always in our hearts.
