but extra cost for the3D added little. My seven year old enjoyed it but kept wanting to take the glasses off.

Grew up with the Jackson Five and spent my college days dancing the nights away to Billy Jean and Thriller. Took my six year old to the movie last night in the hope of sharing these experiences with her. We LOVED the movie. Michael's talent, patience and charisma were awesome -- and the performances depicted in the movie were not even the finished product.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Song and Dance numbers were great. Movie seemed way off the high school theme of prior movies where being in class was actually part of the movie and more like a foray into broadway shows and dancing with the stars. My five year old loved it and has been singing "I Want it All" since we left the theater.
