I absolutely LOVE the Twilight books, and I came to this movie knowing that there was no way that it could live up to my vision of the story as I read the book, but I was excited to see someone else's vision. In short, I was not happy with the results. The directing and editing were terrible. The story seemed choppy, and the filming looked amateur. There were some good spots with the acting, but overall acting seemed monotone. It did not inspire the feelings that the book did. I want them to continue filming the series, but this was not a satisfying beginning. I will probably see it again to make sure that I am fair in my review, but my first impression was --Yuck!
Although I don't usually like the High School Musical Movies, I Thought that this was a step up from the previous movies. This movie has the same basic plot line as all the other movies. Although there were some good moments in the movie, like most of the other movies, it was overall done in a style that would apeal only to five year old girls. The whole movie was just like any other High School musical movie. Troy is still the presured teen ager that five year old girls love everywhere. Gabrealla was still the unsecure girl that breaks up woth her boyfriend for no apperent reason. The rest of the cast where, as always, in the background. There was no apperent plot and I don't think that this movie needs the fame that it has.
