After reading (and thoroughly enjoying) the full series of books that my teenage kids were raving about, I was completely let down by the first movie... and even more so with this sequel. Much more than the typical book-to-movie degradation of story depth, this movie was just plain awful... highlighted (lowlighted?) by absolutely terrible "acting" performances. None more so than the Edward character; who is in my opinion, is terribly cast. I really don't get what all the buzz is about... even my teenage daughters were laughing at this movie... and my 12 year old daughter actually fell asleep in the final 1/2 hour. Save your $$ and don't waste your time... this one is TERRIBLE.
Without having any preconceptions of the film whatsoever, my girlfriend and I went to see Clint Eastwood's newest effort last night . What a treat... we both thought it was GREAT. If you can put up with continuous profanity and racial slurs (slams) throughout the movie, I think most will like it. Clint plays an old and VERY bigoted Korean war vet, living as the "minority" in his now run-down mid-west neighborhood. It's VERY FUNNY and sad in a way, yet ultimately an uplifting good vs. evil movie. 2 thumbs up.... and a middle finger!
