Star Trek in IMAX is the only way to go - but - there were so many holes in the storytelling - SPOILERS - young Kirk is in Iowa, drives the mustang to the edge of a large and wide cliff drop . . . IN IOWA??? Then goes into a bar and finds Uhura and other Federation crew, plus Capt Pike . . . IN IOWA??? Then on the ice planet, Kirk is chased by a couple of creatures, takes refuge in a cave . . . and finds the elder Spock in the cave . . . in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE??? (How long has he been there?) Then they walk to the nearest Federation Station (aren't they worried about the creatures coming after them again?). I went into the film expecting to enjoy it - but was sorely disappointed.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
