Great effects and great characters. They were a little to quickly put thru their paces. The director did not havve faith that they would be interesting with out effects and action. Settings and plot ponts differed from the book and some of the myths were lost as well as the educational valu. Well worth seeing, but not a strong start to a "franchise" considering the popularity of the book series.
I attended the film with my 12 year old daughter. We both had read the book and were very satisfied with the movie. It contained every important plot point and "fleshed" out the characters and their conflicts very well. There were chuckles, excitement, and a bit of smoochie stuff with no ones hands under anyones shirts, providing they wore one! I am old enough to note that Lon Chaney never took his shirt off! I f I looked like Jacob I wouldn't even own a shirt. Good value and great for starting a nice discussion about folklore.
The familiar characters in the television show in new and exciting places. Miley was riotously funny and deeply touching in her role as the citified youngster getting reaccqainted with her real self. From the chicken stampede to the tears on the city hall staircase a great emotional ride. My young lady of 11 and a half thinks Zac Efron has a cowboy rival!
Beautiful, extravagant, and fills the big screen with talent. Oscar for editing. A great sense of closure and tribute to the cast and creative forces of this franchise. See this movie with young ladies of a certain age to really enjoy the Zac Efron" Squeal" effect.
