The effects of this movie were amazing, and I hear that 3D is even better. The storyline was very good, it could have stood on its own without the effects, it was pro-environment anti-imperialist without being preachy or heavy-handed. I particularly liked that there wasn't a lot of gore and s*x - most violence had no blood and no amputations, and the "s*x" scene was very brief and discreet - so that I would be comfortable taking my teen or younger to see it , like Star Wars when I was young! (Maybe I am wrong about what viewers can tolerate, since MovieTickets thinks the word s*x is profanity!) There was a lot of violence and swearing, but the I think story overcame that. The special effects mostly showed how beautiful the world was.
The first hour was captivating and a dream to watch, but the last 20 minutes was like, oh, we're not done with the script but let's go to press anyway because we are out of time. I mean, WTF?
