My girlfriend and I enjoyed this movie - it was entertaining and well acted. It had a moderate amount of humor though the storyline was ridiculous in the 21st century with everyone finding the loss of someones virginity worthy of immediate gossip. I did enjoy the main characters brazen attitude toward the student body by playing the rumored 'harlot' role.
I'm not quite sure why everyone we talked to said they laughed all the way through - I didn't think it was that funny until the second half when you start learning what really happened. The story started with the end and then went back to the beginning, which because they couldn't remember anything, wasn't that funny at that point! It had it's moments but the last half was definitely the funny part. I guess this is the danger of hearing nothing but raving reviews, your expectations get too high. As another reveiwer said here, 'it's definitely a guy movie'.
Just saw 'W' tonight and I wasn't very impressed. The acting and character choices were good but the story doesn't mean much since you're left wondering what is true and what isn't. For instance, Is Bush senior really 'deeply disappointed' in his son? If it was historically correct I would call it a good movie, but instead it was a long two hours of speculation, or perhaps, wishful thinking. I would not recommend this movie.
