My friend and I (both in our 30s) both grew up on this book, identifying with little Max and also each with different "Wild Things". It's always nerve-wracking to see a movie version of a favorite book, fearing that it could ruin the way you've imagined the characters and action for all time. Not this movie. Bravo Spike Jonze. It was just as I would have imagined, and the puppetry was spectacular. As one reviewer said earlier, there are some moments that could be scary for the younger kids, but if they've read the book, they'll see them coming. And regardless of whether it's before or after seeing the movie, all kids should read this book!
