After reading all the previous reviews, I cannot agree more with every aspect that has already been mentioned. The voices, the sets, the sheer delight of watching them have such a good time doing what they do so magnificently. What a treat to "meet" the entire orchestra with Maestro Levine. How else could one possibly experience the in-your-face chance to see each musician unless you were sitting in the orchestra pit. We are thoroughly enjoying the Met Live in HD experience with each new performance.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Turandot

Last nites encore performance of Turandot was absolutely spectacular! Never having seen it before, we found this production not only visually exquisite , but totally wonderful to listen to. The voices were magnificent. The power required for some of the arias was there when needed. The softness, humor and pathos absolutely on key blending the entire story perfectly. We feel most privileged to have watched the premiere performances at the Met., by the leads who more than met the challenge of the roles. It was also delightful to meet some of the veteran performers and hear their backgrounds, as well as the young conductor also making his debut at the Met.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

An exquisite, heartwrenching, performance. Every character perfect and the voices marvellous. The staging is brilliant in its simplicity and the use of the puppets a stroke of genius.
It is the 4th Met opera we have seen in this format, and are so grateful for the opportunity to see these productions.
Thank you to the Metropolitan Opera Company for making this possible. Next season sounds awesome and we can't wait!
