We had both read the books, and the story lines and development of the characters was completely missing the point. Like other reviewers, I don't know how they will continue the story without completely rewriting their own "movie version" of this wonderful book. The basis of Kronos coming back to power was completely missing and many of the monsters that we were looking forward to seeing were completely omitted. The question about whether or not the gods really cared about their offspring was not included. I had to make my son finish watching the movie because about halfway through, he was ready to leave. It was a real disappointment. I am suprised that the author would have allowed the basis of the story to be so completely mistrued.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
