3 people in the audience, who apparently don't get out much, were laughing. The rest of us were looking at each other and wondering what they found so funny! Did we just not get it? Yep, we got it and it WASN'T FUNNY. Honestly, Steve Carrell will not put this movie on his resume-he will want to forget he did it. Walked out to get some air, thinking it was almost over and we could kill some time until the rest of the people we were with finished torturing themselves with this movie, and found we had only been watching 45 min!! Seemed like hours. We left, got a refund. There were 6 of us who agreed it was horrible and wanted to leave. Props to Rave/Stonybrook Cinemas in Louisville, Ky, who graciously refunded $75 worth of tickets, so our night wasn't a complete waste. It was only our time we couldn't get back! Trust me, we all have a great sense of humor, and this movie is NOT funny by any stretch of the imagination. I must say though that the actress who played Paul Rudd's girlfriend was adorable. Have never seen her before but hope she gets a better agent! She won't put this on her resume either.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Love Julia Roberts, have missed her in movies, so I was so disappointed in this one. Impossible to follow story line, jumping from 12 hrs ago to 4 days later, to 5 yrs ago, to present, future, and past! Definitely don't drink before you go, or on second thought, maybe that would have made it better. Trailers made it look like a funny, cute movie-so NOT TRUE. The 2 people I was with didn't know what was going on either, and all 3 of us said after the movie we would have left less than halfway thru if one of us had spoken up. Unfortunately we didn't, and we wasted lots of money on tickets and popcorn, and wasted a perfectly good girls night out. Thank goodness the theater had Starbucks!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
