Touchy Feely Wolverine

I don't like the direction this super hero movie takes. By overly humanizing the back story of Wolverine and delving into his emotional psychology and genesis (military program run amok) detracts from the escapism which is the reason I go to these movies. Frankly I don't want to know too much about my super hero, or be reminded how military programs are mismanaged. I say: Skip it unless your a fan of the stars or series.

Louder with more Explosions

I'm a fan of the original Star Trek TV series, but found this movie unable to recreate the charm of the original. The story is difficult to follow and relies on lazy screenwriting trick (time travel) for plausibility. Leonard Nimoy appears as old Spok but the gymnastics of story required are awkward and pasted in. There is a distinct lack of Science which I find pathetic and exploitve for purported Science Fiction show, like a kid who didn't do his homework and copies off his classmate.
Good performance by Simon Pegg as Scotty. Overall skip it, unless you are a Trekie then we both know what you'll do.
Note to Director: Like people, loudness rarely equates with creative.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

If you like nature shows and want to get out of the house you might enjoy this. If watching animals attack and eat each other bothers you or you want more for your $12 then pass. I personally like nature shows and want to encourage people to take an interest in the planet but I have reservations when Disney jumps in to capitalize on it.

Spanish Language/ English Sub-Titles

I liked this movie although I'm baffled why they released it as an R movie. A few less expletives and re-editing of a love scene this could be a passable family movie that might have appealed to the vast hordes of Soccer Players and their moms. As is, I do not recommend this movie for kids. This movie demonstrates one of the woes of corvette owners everywhere as the tires tend to vacuum up nails and the holes need plugging. I recommend getting a new tire since the plug can fall out at an inappropriate time.

Hugh laurie is English?

I was disappointed that the Cockroach didn't sound like doctor House. Turns out Hugh Laurie decided to use his own unrecognizable English voice which begs the question, why pay him to do this job? Maybe it could be re-dubbed prior to DVD release.
Other voice actors are well cast, and seem to embrace their characters. I liked Reese Witherspoon's Susan/Ginormica and the costume design they made for her (hotty).
The movie provides good family entertainment with high quality digital animation. I only saw the 2-D version. One of my colleagues who saw it in 3-D was very impressed.
Try to find a 3-D showing if you're an adult, kids probably won't mind either way.

Warning: Not a kid's movie, R-Rated
Don't be late, or you'll miss the impressive fight scene with the Comedian - Jeffery Dean Morgan. The synergism of slow motion and sound track make this a future classic.
Attention to detail permeates the movie with well conceived visual/audio imagery that rewards the attentive movie goer. Sometimes there is too much going on.
Average acting by some of the cast is offset by strong performances from Morgan as the aforementioned Comedian and Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach. The anatomically correct Dr. manhattan character is too Smurf / Blue-Man like not to be a distraction.
Any movie that has the good taste to reference Ozymandias by Shelly gets my vote.
Enjoy RS-10

Arthur Blessitt's Home Movies

There seems a niche market for this very low budget docu-autobiography of missionary Arthur Blessitt amongst fundamental Christians seeking inspiration.
Besides my distrust for anyone who doesn't have a regular job. I found it long on emotion, and short on content offering little to extend my understanding of the life of Jesus Christ. instead it focuses on this whipped up frenzy of emotion that Arthur interprets as god talking to him. If I could turn off half my brain, then maybe I could participate also.
I think this could be a productive movie, IF Arthur were willing to be open about his REAL life. I get the creepy impression he is self promoting and left a lot of the bad stuff out.

NOS Explosion?

Prepare to test your ability to suspend disbelief. This moronic episode begins witha ridiculously dangerous and complex sequence to hi-jack a gas tanker. My 10 year old nephew Max could come up with a better heist plan.
According to the movie; Nitrous Oxide is flammable, and can be triggered by a cigarette lighter?
Swat team cops will take umbrage at a street racer's trash talk and retaliate by planting drugs in his apartment.
Mexican drug lords can dig a Chunnel under the border undetected?
This movie insults the audience. I get the impression that Vin, Paul, and Justin never got "engine grease under their collective fingernails" except in the context of making these movies. Even then, it was probably movie grease.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Boy meets Girl. Boy loses Girl. Boy finds Girl.

Boy meets Girl. Boy loses Girl. Boy finds Girl.
The classic tale three-peated with three sets of actors is a must see for the movie aficionado. I enjoyed this movie, but felt it had been over-hyped and over-awarded based on weak competition in 2008 from the domestic movie industry, which sadly seemed more focused on pushing their agenda than entertaining the public. i'd like to see Premium movies Made in America, but think in 2009 Hollywood will continue to serve up the same crude, aberrant and disposable fare we've become acustomed to.

Fell Asleep

I don't understand why Julia Roberts is a still a star. She plays her trademark pitiful feminine roll that becomes less believable each outing. It comes across as being wearisome even for her.
Her features (nose and lips) are amplified by an anorexic skull. This draws the eye on screen, but not in a good way. It's like when there is a car wreck on the freeway. i suggest avoiding close-ups, and using body doubles in the future. This aside, the story is overly complex and unrewarding, IF you're diligent enough to follow it. I was not, and dozed off in the middle and missed 10 minutes. i apologize to any hapless movie goers if I snored.
If you're a J.R. fan then... Well I guess you have to see it. .
