Every now and then a movie comes along, that touches upon an important open issue in our world, but that does not just laments and blames, but actually shows how change can look and be initiated.
Won't back down is such a movie.
The movie reminded me, that unions and processes are important controls to ensure fairness and effectiveness. However, when it grows out of hand, it might cause the opposite - hindrance instead of support.
I believe, that our (human's) purpose in this world is to cause change and further the development of this world. It is not about my personal gain and comfort, but about how I can contribute to the growth of the creation.
This movie is another great example of how magic can happen when one or more persons get beyond looking at their own benefit and work towards the greater good.
It also is anothe rexample of how personal discomfort seems to be the best motivator for us to get moving, to start doing something.
That to me is sad. Imagine if our focus would be contribution and positive change!
Anyhow, I can only recommend this movie to anybody - as it shows how one person can start a ball rolling. It inspires and motivates to look around my own life and see what balls I am seeing lying around that might need to get a push...
Enjoy!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons not showing in all theaters
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This is another movie helping the common American citizen understand the situation. When 75 years ago in another country a group of people was declared illegal, most common folks didn't know what really was going on. We don't either. Well, once you see this movie, you get an idea... PS: the situation is quite similar in various countries in Europe, too. So to my friends in Europe: watch it when it is available on DVD... toolOfTheUniverse.org
The only way for us to get a realistic grip on the immigration problem is to understand better how life is as an immigrant. This movie makes an excellent contribution, by allowing us to feel through the life experiences of Muna and Fadi what it means to leave everything behind - no matter how bad it is - and try to make a new beginning in this country.
If you pay attention, you'll also notice other topics touched upon: gun-controll, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (of course), coming of age, single parenthood...
I am amazed how this movie can be so entertaining and beautiful to watch, with all that depth!
We learn and grow through experiences. A movie allows us to learn through somebody else's experience, without having to go through it ourselves. This movie is a great lesson, presented in a highly entertaining and captivating way – and, boy, am I glad I don't have to learn this lesson through a situation in my own life! There is a change happening in this world right now – or at least, it needs to happen, in order for us humans to make the next step. This movie points at the most visible symptom of the problem we have to overcome next. (Described on toolOfTheUniverse point org in more detail...) All in all, I experienced this movie as highly entertaining, suspenseful, not predictable, and very thought provoking!
