I saw the play a number of years ago and although I enjoyed it there were times it was hard to follow. This movie was terrific! I actually wanted to applaud at the end of each solo. I felt like I was watching the play on stage but with the advantage of closeups. If you liked the play, see this film. The directing by Michael John Warren was so well done.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
