I just saw RENT onscreen last night. It was amazing. It was the last live performance in NYC when it closed on Broadway. It was very emotional to see the end that way. It definitely puts the commercial movie to shame. I know it will be fantastic on DVD. For those of you who have never seen it, this is a great way to do it. Of course all the other patrons at the movies were longtime Rentheads as well which shared in the excitement and helped me feel that I was in the theater on Broadway. It resonated with me in ways differently than it ever has. To me, that is the beauty of RENT. It touches the soul and gives hope and a sense of healing. "No day but Today".
