This was the BEST filmed Stage Musical I've seen. The closeups & angle shots were terrific. It was great to see the expressions & emotions of this terrific cast upclose. However, I would have loved to have seen a few more full stage shots. The sound & picture quality were amazing. It was as close to seeing it live on stage as one can experience in a Movie Theater. The director & film editors did a fantastic job.
I've enjoyed RENT on stage 3 times. And also loved the movie version of RENT. But this was extraordinary! I hope this filmed version comes out on DVD. I'd definately buy it. I'd LOVE to see filmed versions of some other shows in the future. WICKED, SPRING AWAKENING & IN THE HEIGHTS come to mind.
