Another great production by the Met. Renee Fleming is amazing; staging was excellent; concert master violinist did a wonderful job with the meditation. People who have never seen an opera are missing the boat by not attending one of these simulcasts. Not only is it easy to follow for the beginner, but you have excellent "seats", get a behind the scenes tour and see the performers in personal interviews, this time with Placido Domingo. Perfect!
How fortunate that the Met is expanding their horizons by these simulcasts. The opening night Gala was super, beautiful. I wish there had been less interviews prior to the start as the showing went very long (11:30 pm), but otherwise, it was excellent. I'm anxious for the next operas and have recruited new fans. HD allows you to see parts of the staging, expressions of the performers and more that are not usually visible to those of us in the cheap seats. Bravo!
