This is a great movie. Even if you don't like baseball, it still has important civil rights history behind it.

Very disturbing concept

I went to see this movie not knowing anything about a book series or much of the story line. While I do find the plot of children being forced to kill one another very disturbing, I felt the way the story was told through the movie itself was quite good. I may be old fashioned, but I would not let a child of mine under 17 or 18 see this.

This is entertaining to watch. It's refreshing to see a movie without blood and guts, and explicit sex. No moral lesson, just fun.

Not as Expected

From the previews I was expecting this movie to be more about making a connection to the other side and exploring that topic. It had little to do with the other side and more to do with a guy trying to escape his gift of communicating and connecting with the other side. I was disappointed because I have a higher than normal interest in the afterlife. If you think you are going to see a lot about the other side you should probably skip it. Although, the acting is good.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I took my 6 and 8 year old grandchildren to see this and it is a cute movie. It's not up to the standards of a disney movie, but fun to watch non the less. I definitely recommend it.
