I recommend seeing this in 3D...the effects were really enjoyable! That's the first thing I have to say. The second, I'm 25 and I saw this and really enjoyed it! hahaha oh boy. I know, I know. But it's a great family film with some really silly moments. Fun for adults and children alike but the thing that made it really special was seeing it in 3D. I don't really expect it'd be that good as a regular movie.
I went into this movie knowing the backstory to the 'actual' events that took place in Connecticut. If you've seen the documentry and are expecting a movie based off it...you will be disappointed. Basically, the only similarities between the original and this movie is this: the names, the location, and the boy has cancer. Everything else is Hollywood. So, I was a bit disappointed because i went in expecting posession and an evil guy w/black eyes. Instead I got eyelids and floating vomit. I do believe I'll be passing when this comes out on DVD.
Don't go into this expecting Super Bad pt. 2...it's not as funny or silly but it is a great movie and it does have it's laugh out loud moments. I'm not into writing long reviews so I'll cut to the chase: It's good. I totally recommend it. It's clever and the cast makes sence. The soundtrack ROCKS b/c the movie takes you back to 1987... Can't wait to see it again!
