Altho actors’ performances--skillful and impressive, esp Eric Bana's, 45 minutes of redundant film would have been enuf. Director’s camera random & unrevealing; spec effects unrelated to film's theme; gratuitous violence, esp against Kirk; narrative repeats at least 3 other franchise films: good man driven 2 revenge by Kirk (or Spock) for demise of family. Worst part of very disappointing film is score; outdoes John Williams: calls attention to itself instead of contributing to film's themes, action or char development. Really tired of Rambo lack of anger managmnt male fantasies. Star Trek has great tradition of imaginative, ethical & thought-provoking storytelling. Film looked like resume building. Hire writers & producers like DC Fontana.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
