Enjoyed it a lot, but first one was better... probably because we already new the characters... the fun of the reveal wasn't there. Malkovich isn't as excentric in this one either... just a little of a bummer. Overall though, a fun movie.

Deaper story line than I expected (not that the F&F movies are particulary deap)... but mostly just fun action and great play between the actors. Not going to win a Best Film... but if it was that kind of movie, it would suck.
Pros well paced, great actors, action

While clearly focused as a lead-in the the next 2 movies (based on the new books), this was a great reboot of the series and presented a clean transition to new characters. Filming techniques were similar (great) to the originals (even though the quick cuts and hand-held cameras make my eyes bug out sometimes). Great action... Great casting on the new characters. Looking forward to the next 2.

Hey... I loved the original Arnie version too. Unfortunately, they didn't make this a stand-alone move (easily done with a few plot adjustments)... so people compare it to the relatively-recent original. On its own, this movie kicks. Kate is outstanding in her role (and is a great extention on her bad-ass Underworld movies). Farrell is a great casting, Jessica is Ok-to-fine. The special effects are up there with current standards (Transformers/IronMan). Lots of fun... go see it... let it stand on its own without comparing it to the original.

Look for extended edition DVD

Pretty decent movie, but seemed that there were "hunks" chopped from it that would have filled in some blatant inconsistencies that I doubt were in the books and doubt that would have been excluded from filming. I'd look for a DVD release with about 20-30 minutes of additional footage (like every decent Cameron movie (not counting that pathetic Titanic)).
