I must confess. When I heard Michelle Williams was going to be portraying Marilyn Monroe I sort of shook my head. Yeah, Ms. Williams is a talented actress but this seemed outside her scope. Boy, was I wrong. Ms. Williams was spot on throughout the entire movie. She brought the sensuality of MM back to the silver screen, and moreso made us remember why we loved MM. This was a glimpse into the private life of one of the most beloved stars of all times.
I was one of those wacky people who went to the midnight showing, and was eager about it the entire prior day. [I was also one of those fools who had to work the next day.] Completely stunning movie adaptation. Yes, some things were lost from the transition of book, but overall visually appealing with very good acting and wonderful dialog--just enough humor to lighten the dark undertones without making it campy.
I will be back to see this in the theater and anxiously awaiting the DVD release.
