Simplistic plot, great scenery

I loved the Avatar concept. Otherwise the plot was oversimplistic to say the least- pocahontas in the 22nd century- but it was a thoroughly charming fairy tale. District 9 gave a much better, morally complex rendition of a similar theme but this movie had likeable protagonists, fun "bad guys", if rather one-dimensional and a good tight story line. No slow parts in a 3 hour movie. And the visuals were every bit as spectacular as they say. It wasn't the 3D that blew me away, although that was great, but the beauty of the creatures and the scenery. Incredibly detailed and creative.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie was brilliant! Never boring for a second, great story, great special effects - but the best part was the actors. I couldn't have imagined more convincing choices for the lead characters or a better conversion into modern times. Can't wait for the sequels!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Whatever you may think of Woody Allen - he knows people! This was Woody Allen at his best - a brilliantly written comedy with twists and turns and an underlying deep understanding of how people just are who they are in all their confusion and emotional messes. The acting was brilliant. I loved Penelope Cruz as the mad artist. I was laughing out loud during this movie. Highly recommended!
