It's bad when your 10 year old leaves the movie already listing what wasn't in the books. I was greatly disappointed at the mangling of such a good story. There were huge plot holes, such as why would all the deatheaters need to get into Hogwarts just to turn around and leave? In the book, there was a huge fight for the sanctity of the school. There was also a funeral. I could go on and on about what they left out. The addition of more storyline for Draco was a nice addition, but a few other changes left me nonplussed. Also, I have to say that Jim Broadbent as Slughorn steals the show. That was some awesome acting.
I took my kids to see this movie, knowing that it was geared more towards kids, and also knowing that it was probably going to be a bit silly. I was surpised that it had actual depth to it, and very happy to see that it showed the clones to be competent, feeling, and capable heroes in their own right. Humanizing Jabba was hard for me to get into. Droids that can't count are a bit too silly for grownups, but every kid in the theater with us was laughing their head off. Ventriss and Obi Wan's duel was really, really good. If you've seen the Clone Wars cartoons from Cartoon Network, and liked those, you will like this. If you're coming to the movies wanting a sequel to Star Wars, you probably won't be satisfied.
