As usual, the Zeffirelli production was over the top in staging and costuming. The singing complimented the score and the sun spot caused technical difficulties were a distraction but did not detract too much from our overall enjoyment.
Baritone (Relyea) was extraordinary, soprano (Graham) more than adequate, tenor a bit thin at times, chorus excellent, staging (LePage) not quite sure whether stunnig or distracting.
