sam rockwell really showed up for this role. he casts a big shadow over the rest of the 'starring' actors. see 'the moon'...another great rockwell film...a one-man-show of his acting flair and virtuosity. as for iron man 2...the only other thing i can say is---please dont make a third. this series reminds me of the matrix so far. great first flick...then just gets muddy with special effects and over-complicated plot maneuvers. not much 'acting' going on here.....i can understand johannsson... perfect role for her...show up....look sexy...shes a pretty average actress...but what is gwyneth paltrow thinking? r|z
not a great movie. i love vince and jon, but this one doesn't fly...actually never gets off the ground. the attention is too divided over the 4 couples to really develop any characters worth caring about. save for a rental night. r|z
ricky gervais exposes christianity for the cult that it is...and its funny! thought-provoking movie. the answer is not out there...its in here [your heart]. r|z
we left the theater to go see a different movie after about 12 minutes of this 'not a movie' movie. not a documentary. not a movie. not a bit interesting. don't pay 9 bucks to watch bored actors experiment while the camera rolls.
WHAT? not at all entertained with the very disappointing new cookie-cutter style format of the hollywimp.com movie reviews. WHO? you. if you are that bored with your task and can't get inspired to provide a professional, intelligent and creative review...find another job. serious. leave. now. WHAT'S GOOD? nothing. [see above...duh.]
i don't need to see this movie to know that it's not worth my time or money. jim carrey has obviously run out of imagination and interest in evolving at an actor. am i the only one that sees "liar, liar" written all over this movie? carrey will never outrun his legendary rubberface persona. that's his fate. he's just not that good of an actor to do so. sorry ace. sorry jim.
The large number of high rated reviews for this movie make me truly believe that the studio paid someone to create a boatload of user accounts and flood the board with 'positivity' to sell movie tickets...seriously...i believe that. My wife and I are big Paul Rudd fans. Seann W. Scott has had many high points of humor as well. So we went in with good expectations. But there is some sort of weird 'kids should'nt be used in a movie like this' feeling that prevails throughout the flick. And it's this feeling that eventually drains the movie its charm and the viewer of any possibility of a full commitment to the film and its humor. "Not really that funny" is the final word.
as a musical: 5/10... [how can you miss with ABBA tunes?...by casting meryl and pierce as singers.] as a comedy: 5/10... [just ok...very predictable humor] as a chicflick: 10/10... [im not a chic or a chicflick lover] as a greek island epic 2/10... [other than beach scenes...most settings were hollywood stages with fuzzy fake backgrounds.] as a movie: 2/10... [weak plot...the ending was way over the top...we were ready to leave at the point they made the colin firth character 'gay'.] as a babefest: 5/10... [yes...amanda is a hottie...but a one-piece bathing suit?...disappointed!]
