Cute for kids, okay for adults.

More standard formulaic fare from the Chipmunk franchise. My son loved it, especially the music. I didn't hate it, but would not recommend it other than as a kids' movie.

The animation is stunning. The story is sweet, if not "Pixar" quality. The music is forgettable. But there are so few G-rated movies out there, I jump at the chance to take my 9-year-old to just about any of them, and this one was cute enough.

I took my son and his friends, who are all 9 years old, to see the movie. Although they all said that they liked it, no one was raving about it, including mom. It's cute, but not as good as the first Wimpy Kid movie. It does have a sweet message, about getting along with your siblings, so it does have some value. Judging from the trailers of other upcoming kids' movies, such as Hop and Rio, it looks like there are far better choices available than Roderick Rules.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
