We were totally absorbed in this opera version of Hamlet. The acting and singing were riveting, the interviews with Renee Fleming added so much to our understanding of what the singers and conductor were trying to convey. Everytime we attend an HD Opera it exceeds our expectations.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I have seen many Toscas in the past 50 years, and this stands with the best. Each singer's portrayal was immediately absorbing and engaging. The voices were superb, the sets did not intrude or detract. Act I was broadcast much too loudly, and there is no need for a 20 minute intermission between acts in the Encore version. The interviews by Susan Graham were wonderful and very much to the point.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
