This is a great film. The use of an alternate universe with a new timeline is brilliant. Fans are able to see the characters of Uhura, Sulu, Scotty and Chekov fleshed out more so than ever before. Chris Pine is an awesome Kirk. Mc Coy is right on. Spock? He fits in this alternate universe, but his interior struggle with his human side is missing. It is a critical piece of what fans identify with. Now, where are the other characters? I'll miss the tension of Spock and Chapel. But I can't wait for Trek II!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
