My boyfriend and I loved this movie! We love Tim Burton, and we love dogs. The mannerisms of the animals were spot on, and it had that dark and slightly off-beat Tim Burton feel we love!
I took my daughter and her sisters to see this film... ages 6, 9, and 11. There was no laughing and no after conversation. I know its a good movie when it pulls me in and they continue to refer back to it after its over.
I would not pay additional for the 3D.
We enjoyed the previews before the film starter and look forward to seeing them.
Not being a Tim Burton fan, I took my daughter to see this to humor her, and assumed that I would be counting the minutes until it was over. As it turned out, it was well-done, though weird. But that's Tim Burton for you. I found myself laughing a great deal, and I'll have to admit I sort of choked up at the ending. All in all, I'd recommend it, and shouldn't be a problem but all but the smallest of kids, who wouldn't get most of it anyway.
Pros touching story
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie is a pure example of labor of love. This was a great remake of Burton's short film from the 80s.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It's a great production, I can see they put a lot of work into it but I just don't think it's for kids. It's too dark and creepy not to mention sad. Grown ups that like Tim Burton are going to love it!
Cons too complex
No, I do not recommend this movie.

My children and I were anxiously awaiting the release of this movie only find it boring and unimaginative. . There was no point and far from being heartwarming , we found it quite bizarre.
