She doesn't take any guff from anyone meaning harm and manages to rescue the male lead several times while charming the pants off the roughest, toughest bandits and hooligans. This movie gives a new twist to the classic Rapunzel. I took my 8 year old to see it but the age group in the theater ranged from 2 years old to 60 years old (and some didn't even have kids with them). This was a really cute movie, I enjoyed it.

I took my 8 year old to see it, and we loved it! The details were amazing, the story line never lagged. The villain was not too scary, but definitely mean, just in an underhanded way. The music is great! We are going to get the soundtrack to listen to in the car! This is a great movie for all ages!

We took our 5 year old daughter to Tangled and we all absolutely loved it. The animation was amazing! Each strand of hair, each leaf was breath-taking. The story was great and it was nice that a typical wedding wasn't the focus of the end of the movie. Mother Gothel was a perfect passive-aggressive, evil character without being too scary.
The ONLY thing I really didn't like was when she told Rapunzel she was getting "chubby" in one of the songs. I don't think it's appropriate to teach children that being "chubby" (which she clearly is not) is a bad thing. That was disappointing and something that could stick in some kids' minds - especially if they are heavier than their peers.
Otherwise... the songs were great. The story never lagged. There were surprising parts. Overall, it kept us wanting more. So much so, that I wouldn't mind paying the money to see it in the theater again. This will definitely be one we buy when it comes on DVD.

My wife and I took our two eight-year old kids to see this movie and it was great! There were no hidden innuendos like there are most of today's kid's movies. Disney went back to making a wholesome family film with this one. Definitly will become a classic. Very please and would love to see again.

Truly entertaining to the fullest. light-hearted, with fast-paced action. Characters were delightful and Disney did it again with the animal elements ( if a frog can be called an animal just for now.. I need 50 characters to have this posted). Fantasy yes, but if that isn't why you went to see it, forget criticizing it because you went for the wrong reason. What fun we had and that was 3 generations (2 grand-parents, 3 children and 2 grand-children).

Visually remarkable, and some of the action sequences were absolutely outstanding. The music was okay--appropriate to the needs of the scene, but nothing memorable like Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin.
***Spoiler***A bit brutal toward the end; the happy ending that Disney films are know to provide is kind of forced, and that is after kids really have to embrace the fact that they just saw someone being murdered on film. Kids can probably take it in stride, but since I know some kids don't, parent should be mindful of this. Plus there is the underlying theme of questioning a parent's authority and motivations in order to live and to understand life for yourself. While this may be valuable at times and in some circumstances--and while I have my own issues whereby I might applaud such lessons--I still don't know how much I'd like the idea of my hypothetical children questioning my authority or my motivations for what I do when I discipline or restrict them, and I bet a lot of parents with real children would like that even less.
All in all, though, the film was fun, the villainess was quite wicked (although, disturbingly, in a real way--not the far fetched way of a magical evil witch, but more like an overbearing mother or mother-in-law or other mature to old female figure/authority who you are not inclined to treat with the level of malicious behavior you'd think she deserves), and even though Disney may have pushed the line a bit when they dealt with death and loss, they still maintain a level of discretion that allows for the experience not to be overwhelming.

My daughters (3 and 8yrs old) both loved the movie! There was so much going on - you will wish to see it again and again to catch all the details you missed he first time around!

Warning - this review may contain spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie.
Tangled is a new pinnacle for Disney computer animation. I felt that the previous film by much of this same team, "Bolt" was a very good and heartfelt film, but "Tangled" takes things to a whole new level.
The scene with Rapunzel and Flynn launching their floating lantern for the "lost princess" while all of the other lanterns rose into the sky was breathtakingly beautiful and I loved how Rapunzel scooped up and relaunched the King and Queen's lantern without even knowing it.
This film finally brings the look, feel, and spirit of the classic Disney 2D fairy-tales into the 3rd dimension. And it takes the characters along for the ride.
I would go so far as to say that Mother Gothel is probably one of the best realized Disney "villains" ever. She's not just "evil because the story says so." She's given an actual motivation and she's crafty as well as frightening.
I enjoyed Rapunzel's first foray into the "real world" (Replete with the classic Disney "call to adventure" sequence for the heroine- the "When Will My Life Begin" reprise accompanied by a pastoral romp.) and her mixed emotions at simultaneously experiencing freedom and betraying her mother.
Both my 2.5 year old daughter and 5 year old son enjoyed this movie - though my son didn't want to admit it since it's a "girl" movie.
But it's really not. There's a lot for everyone here. Flynn and Rapunzel really are costars of the film, each getting a fairly balanced amount of screentime, and Maximus the horse is an outstanding supporting character.
I'm so glad that Disney's 50th animated motion picture was such a good one. I think that John Lasseter is shepherding Disney into a third Golden Age of feature animation and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
If you have a family (or are just an adult Disney fan, as I am) you owe it to yourself to see "Tangled." It's currently my favorite movie I've seen this year.

My 3 and 5 year old loved this movie and I have to say, the parents loved it just as much! Will be heading back to see it again this weekend. The 3D glasses were a little tricky for the 3 year old but we got there in the end!
