My 19 y/o son and I saw this together and we are clearly the target audience for this film-we have read the books and watched the movies together since he was 8. Just as Harry's fans have grown up, so has this movie, and we enjoyed it's faithful following of the book.
It is a bit more violent than any of the previous films and because of that (and the fact that there really are no children in the films anymore) I would not recommend it for kids under age 9 or so.

Having read the whole series of Harry Potter books, I am always waiting for the next movie to come out. Other than being disappointed that now I have to wait for the second half of the Deathly Hallows to come out, the movie was super. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. This was one of the best of the series. I read the all the books, and the last one was so intense. The movie portrays the book very well. I was wondering where they were going to stop HP7 part 1. Where they left it off makes me want more. I didn't want to movie to end. And seeing it on the IMAX, my first time, was exciting. Would recommend it to anyone who asks.

Great Movie!! It definitely was the "darkest" of the series, but it worked well and turned out great. Action and suspense until the very end leave you waiting to see how the second part is going to turn out. Of course, if you read the books, then you know the story, but it is always interesting to see how that translates to movie form. I would reccommend IMAX and I can't wait for the finale.

I have always noticed that when I movie comes out that it patterned after a book, much of the events are left out. With this movie, nothing is left out. The plot line follows the first 15 chapters of the Deathly Hallows with a great transition into part II. It is essential for people who have read the book to see the movie. You will be amazed with the action, special effects, and adherence to J.K.'s novel that the other Harry Potter movies have not had.

Also to stay in line with this movie, Star wars was awesome too. I am reviewing this only to warn parents that after the first 10 minutes, my almost 8 year old son, was so scared, we had to leave the movie and luckily the manager let us go into Megaminds that was just beginning. He was really terrified and he has seen many scarier movies like Transformers and Pirates of Carr. Just know your kid before you try. Now I have to go back and see myself!

Took our two grandchildren, ages 8 and 13, to see the movie. The 8-yr.-old covered his eyes when I told him a "real scary part is coming," but otherwise both of them enjoyed the movie. I'm with the reviewer who said Wormtail needed to die by his own silver hand! I know a great deal from the book had to be omitted, but the revelations re Dumbledore's family and Harry's frustrations re same are pretty important. Be that as it may, the movie is wonderful.

I think it was telling that for the most part the entire theater was as silent as a chuch --except for the clapping at the end. The movie did a good job of following the book. Tthe story was gripping and evoked a full range of emotions. The actors did a wonderful job of bringing it all to life. I'm not sure anyone would be able to follow all the detail unless they had read the books and I would NOT recommend the movie to anyone until they had read the entire series of books -- too many details in question that would ruin the experience for them. But for a Harry Potter fan who had read the books, this is a wonderful movie. The only problem is that now we have to wait to see the end.

Went with my 12 year old daughter and kept looking at her to make sure she was okay. It was an amazing movie with lots of drama and action. Good for all the family, scary at points but she did okay and loved it. We would both recommend it for others to check out.

I saw this movie in the IMAX theater! So awesome that at some points I was actually queasy from the action in the film. Felt like I was running through the woods with them! Can't wait for Part II!!!!
