Excellent if your familiar with the books. Dark themes and graphic violence might cause problems with kids 10 and under - especially if they don't like snakes! Fantastic scenery comes across brilliantly in IMAX, but simulated hand-held cameras in action shots are confusing on the big screen.

There was a lot of loud bursts of action. Then lulls to develop the story here and there. It was adequate for the purpose of getting from the previous movie to the last book's movie. They introduced more twists and turns so the last movie has got to be like 5 hours long, at least, to resolve all of the story line that this movie introduced.

Outstanding movie experience. The IMAX experience certainly enhanced the overall movie. The story-line was very strong, leaving the viewer anticipating Part 2. J. K. It was very good, much better than most of the previous movies. It could have been better though. I still feel they cut out or changed too many parts. For example, Harry's birthday. FYI, in the book, there was a huge celebration for it. In the movie, it was completely cut out, and when Harry Ron, and Hermione reached Charing Cross Road after the Death Eaters showed up at Bill and Fleur's wedding, Ron and Hermione started apologizing about everyone forgetting his birthday. But that DID NOT happen. But anyways, i'm not going to give anymore away. It's still a good movie, and I would recommend going to see it, especially if you plan on going to see Part 2. Seeing it in IMAX is an added bonus that makes the whole movie experience even better.

In the Halfblood Prince the actors were often seen looking at each other as if willing each other to remember their lines. The directing and acting was pretty lame - this time the acting was pretty good. The story was hard to follow - I held off reading the book so that I wouldn't be disappointed by the movie, but I think I needed to read the book to fill in the missing pieces that the movie did not provide.

Loved every second of the movie. Did not disappoint this reader and movie goer. One suggestion though, find a different IMAX if you are an IMAX fan. The theatre at Alta Springs is not what you will expect. Small screen. Not much bigger than a regular screen. Spent $100 on 6 tickets and wished we had gone to the IMAX at Point Orlando!!!

The film does not follow the book completely, but the areas where it departed worked. The characters have grown into these roles and are a pleasure to watch. They have become very good actors in their own rite. The film makers did a great job and I can't wait to see the second film. I will miss this series very much. Translating a popular book to film has always been an iffy proposition, and one that has met various levels of success in the Harry Potter series. I haven't read Deathly Hallows for about a year, but I was please with how they presented the main themes in the book with only a couple of minor alterations. If you are going to see Harry Potter, you HAVE to see it in IMAX. Part 1 may not have been in 3D, but the screen size and picture quality are amazing. The ending sets the stage for the final battle PERFECTLY. If I could, I would give it 10 stars.

My husband and I were waiting for the crowds to die down before we saw this. I'm so glad we waited. The theater wasn't packed....we had great seats and the movie was even better. If you have faithfully read the books as well as seen the movies, you most likely will be gleeful about this one! Follows the book more closely than any before, verbatim lines often, greatly enhanced acting skills, and new characters add to the enjoyment. The big downfall, however, was the poor music score, actually detracted from the movie. It's lack of memorable songs, themes, and background music was a terrible disappointment. I am regretful that Desplat was chosen for Part II.

I totally don't regret watching this movie on Thanksgiving. And I'm glad they stuck with IMAX version and not the 3D version. I can't wait for the next one!
