This movie was extremely well-done and conveyed perfectly the dark tone of the world in the throes of Voldemort. The acting on everyone's part was superb (especially Snape's few scenes) and the emotion was palpable. I don't know why some people complain it was too dark, because if you have actually read the book, Voldemort is obviously a very evil guy and the world is extremely messed up when he returns. The end left you wishing for more (and close to tears) and it was a non-stop thrill ride to get there, punctuated by scenes of vivid emotion. An amazing addition to the series, and even though not everything made it in (the movie was 2 and a half hours and only halfway through the book so obviously that would have been impossible) everything included made it great. It has set the stage for the spectacular ending, and if it is anything like this movie, it will be everything you could hope for in this stunning conclusion to the story of Harry Potter. Well done everyone involved with the production of this film!!!

Movie was great, great effects it was funny, serious and even had parts that make people jump. I am very impressed with this one, I though they had done a great job on Half Blood Prince and it seems that they upped it this time. I went to the midnight showing of it and don't regret it, a theater full of HP fans on an opening night and a great movie made the experience great!!

I was disappointed that the movie didn't consider it's audience of middle school students. It focused so heavily on dark themes and blatantly disregarded details that heavy HP readers thrive on. I actually fell asleep for a few minutes during the long, dark, boring scenes. I don't think I will complete my DVD collection by adding this one.

I've read all the books, seen all the movies, and this one has risen to the occasion! It placates us readers by closely following the book far more than any other movie adaptation. (Hmmm, does it leave us wanting more "extras" that we previously complained about?) Definitely doesn't let you leave on a happy note and definitely makes you want the next movie. A hint at the Gringott's plan would have made me feel more hopeful. If you haven't read the books, you might be confused...good enough reason to get busy reading!

The movie was epic. Great humour and thrilling action scenes. Touching moments between actors. Only two issues: Some camera work was bumpy, and a chase scene was flat-out choppy. With a budget like HP07-I, I have to believe this was deliberate, but I think if the director was trying to convey emotion through this technique then it came at too high a cost. Second concern is just that some characters and stories were rushed over because they should have been introduced in previous films, but they never had their act together. Thus I worry that those that haven't read the book might find a few things rushed or unclear.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan and can admit to having doubts that this movie would impress me at all, as I've taken many issues with many of the Potter movies in the past in terms of the interpretation and adaptation to the screen from novel form. However, Deathly Hallows part one was more than I expected it to be. It had me laughing, close to tears, and when it was over it felt like I had barely sat down. I was ready for another two hours of film to finish it off right then.
I think this is a great start to the last film in the series, and can't wait for the second part. I haven't been this excited for a Potter-related event since the Deathly Hallows book came out three years ago.

I expected very little from this movie, which was to tell the story of the least eventful half of Book 7. I thought it would be boring, honestly. But I walked out of the theater in a daze, vision clouded by tears, thinking that had been the shortest 2 and a half hours of my life.
The highlights, hopefully without giving away too much — Emma Watson's intensity (especially in her opening scene) Rupert Grint's lovability (the "ball of light" speech!), Dan Radcliff's ever-increasing range (and to think I used to call him bland), Return of the House Elves, the destruction of the horcrux (much sexier than I imagined), the subtle reactions of Malfoy and Snape, lovely scenery, and an amazing surprise in the form of some truly beautiful animation during the reading of the 'Three Brothers' tale. I can't recommend this enough for Potter fans. Those who haven't read the book, though, might find the somewhat supplementary storytelling to be frustrating.

I went into this movie very hesitant. I was originally mad they split it into to thinking they were just getting greedy. However, the movie was excellent. It was very intense with a good amount of humor. Definitely not a kids movie like the first few. The beginning scenes where they move Harry was a little cut short to me, but they elaborated a lot more in other scenes then they were ever able to in previous movies. Great music as well. I'm curious about the last scene and whether or not they are going to stick with the book, but I am excited to see how they work it out!! Amazing acting. These kids have DEFINITELY grown up!!!!

I was really impressed with this HP movie. They included all the important details from the book and as an avid reader, I really appreciated that. Although, if you have not read the book, it will probably be hard to understand what is going on at times because they did not do much to catch the viewer up to speed on the storyline. Overall, a fantastic movie and a great beginning to the end of this amazing series!

Healthy -Sized Harry Potter Fan here. I read all of the books and went to all of the previews. The movies just keep getting better! This was my favorite and I think even if you haven't followed along with the books, you will really enjoy this film and you will go back and read the books! The acting and directing were A+ all around. Lots of action. I was really disappointed with the book but the movie was brilliant and now I want to give the book a second go. I loved seeing it in an IMAX theater and I have to give credit to the employees at the Kent Station for dressing up in character and giving trivia's and prizes during the previews. Made for a very enjoyable experience once I let go and accepted that these kids AND ADULTS dressing up aren't weird, maybe they're just having fun! Roll with it!

I was so happy/surprised that this movie was so good and did very well sticking to the book (while others have been horrible). I have absolutely hated 3-6. There were only very minor changes and the stuff that was taken out was minor (them planning the break in at the Ministry). The only thing that kind of upset me was that Harry didn't take Madeye's eye from Dolores. Thank you David Yates for doing the 7th book justice thus far!

I am a huge HP fan and have read all the books millions of times. I LOVED this movie. The scenery was amazing and beautiful, the acting was awesome. It was an amazing combination of love and action and comic relief and I had chills up my spine the whole time! There were some things in the book that were omitted from the movie and things that were added to it, but if there's one thing I've learned from watching these movies, it's not to get strung up about that. None of the changes made the movie worse AT ALL. I think it was better! We went to the 12:01 am IMAX showing. EPIC.

I was excited that entire movie, jumped at multiple parts, and almost shed a tear (however there was many a sniffle going on throughout the crowd). The movie was so good I even got jealous when Harry kissed Hermione, and I may have fallen in love with Emma Watson... especially with the short hair. It's nice to have seen Harry, Ron and Hermione grow up while I have and this was a great movie to add to the world that is Harry Potter.

Went to the 3:20 AM IMAX showing which I am happy I did after seeing the mass herd of high schoolers from the midnight showing all dressed up in Harry Potter gear. The movie was great ending with the perfect scene that leaves the viewer wanting more. Only downside to the movie is that certain scenes are different from what actually happened in the book. Even with this being the case, it is still a great movie.

After waiting in line six hours for the midnight showing, I was thoroughly satisfied with the product! I felt it stuck pretty well close to the books and our gang of actors and actresses really gave this movie their all to try to end it on a good note.

This has to be my favorite film of the entire series! Nothing important was left out of the story to leave people who didnt read the books wondering what is going on. They split the film at the best spot. I left the theatre in shock because it exceded my expectations. I was a bit scared,I have to admit, that I would be somewhat dissapointed. That surely wasn't the case. I cannot wait to see the movie again!!! It will be really sad when the series is finally over next year.

I've gotta be honest I'm too tired to write alot because I was waiting at the theater since 10am sitting on the ground but the movie was so great! I wish book 5 and 6 were split into 2 parts also! Some people are annoyed that "Warner Brothers only split the movie into 2 parts to get more money". WHO CARES! You get to see so much more! They got every detail from the book and the cliffhanger was awesome and I'm excited I still get to go to one more release party after this.

I was unsure when the movie first started as to whether or not I would like it. By the time the first 10 mins were done, I knew I was watching one of the best of the series. The performances by the young leading actors has grown, the movie has enough light hearted moments that the intense emotions are off set nicely. The special effects work well. I can't wait till the summer for the final installment.

This movie was my first experience in the IMAX. It was a great movie period. It will be sad for the series to come to an end in July 2011 with part 2. JK Rowling has made the world Harry Potter fans young and old alike.

I waiting in line (at the very front) for around 12 hours to see the IMAX movie at 12:01am. I was not dissapointed! It was one of the most amazing Harry Potters ever shown, and since they split this into two parts they put way more detail into this movie then they put into any other.
With a few major exceptions on how things happened in the book to how they filmed it, this movie was much more accurate then any other. The major difference in the book/film switch over happened in the very beginning as Harry escapes. After that with one or two major exceptions that actually made the film even better; it follows the book well.
There was one scene, no spoilers; about three/forth though the movie when Harry and Hermione are visiting a well known area. Had the action scene been in 3D I might have actually crapped my pants, dispite knowing what was coming; honestly. As it was they did such an amazing job that I had to fight myself not to scream. Of course not everyone managed to stay quiet. If you have ssssseen the movie I am ssssure you know what I am talking about.

This has to be the best Harry Potter movie yet!! I was a little disappointed with some of the cuts they made with the book but I know that they have to cut it in order to fit it in a movie. I just thought they would go in to a little more of the history of what was going on since they were cutting it into two movies.
