The movie was great.. Harry, Ron & Hermoine all gave brilliant performances. Ron & Hermoine are more developed in this movie. Hermoine, especially. Don't know where the 2-1/2 hours went to - it flew by. Lots of action. Found a mistake though. Towards the end of the movie one of the characters mentions that they only have 3 more horcruxes to find. They've only FOUND three: Tom Riddles diary, the ring, and the locket, so they actually still have to find four more horcruxes, not three.

HP7 was amazing! It was by far the funniest one. Emma Watson is an amazing actress, she played the part perfectly. This movie had covered every emotion there must be. I was crying because it was so sweet, laughing really hard, going ito a mental shock, and crying my eyes out the entire movie.

I really loved this movie. they were very detailed about the descriptions in the book. i also thought where they left off for part 1 was perfect. my favorite part (*spoiler* if you haven't read the book) was right before Ron kills a hocrux. I saw it on IMAX and it was definitely worth it ! I can't wait for part 2 and hope they have something where I can watch part 1 again and then it goes into part 2 !! =] I'm gonna go watch it again on thanksgiving :D:D <33

I think they got it this time! It was really good and it followed the book well. The scene at the frozen pond was really well done, as well as the little old lady with the snake inside. I am glad the movie was split. Lots of bawling going on around me at Dobie's death scene btw. Can't wait to go again and for July's finale.

Many book adaptations don't live up to their greatness. This is an excellent start. It was nonstop action from one moment to the next. There were some minor variations from the book, but that is to be expected and doesn't really matter in the overall scheme of things. I can't WAIT until next summer for part 2.

It definitely was a great movie, I agree with everyone else it was the closest to the books, but keep in mind they are making two movies for the one book...so if every movie made two they would be close to the book as well. I can't wait for the 2nd part :) it is going to be amazing. I will be sad to see the movies end as I was when the books ended, but it has been a great series.

This movie was not like the other Harry Potters! It was one of the best so far and not only for the new characters but also has the old characters with the same personalitlys. New challenges and many new places. This movie was great and dont think that this great combination of all the Genre's with a tad bit of humor every once and a while through the movie could not have been any better!

VERY entertaining. The series has never disappointed and this episode continues the trend. I liked the fact that is give you more of a glimpse into the background of the three main characters along with a bit more history on the battle between the Death Eaters and The Order of the Phoenix. Each individual detail that needed to be brought out from the book was. I like where the movie stopped to tie right into the next part. Action sequences were amazing and the effects of the new Imax theater was out of this world! Go and see it. Then you will know what I am talking about.

Of course one had to see it in the IMAX, and we can discuss the pros and cons of seeing any movie that is this popular--the outrageous costs of food and tickets. BUT that is not what this is about. "HP and the DH pt 1" lives up to its billing. It's exciting, keeping you on the edge of your seat as you experience what has become a very dark world. There is less humor than we've seen in previous HPs. And rightly so. It is not hard to imagine George Orwell sitting on the collective shoulders of David Yates and his creative team to powerful effect. There is tremendous despair. My 16 year old son commented that there were moments when it seemed the film evoked an almost post holocaust feel (I believe he meant apocalyptic, but for some of us, those terms are not unrelated). There is less discovery of new magic. This, too, is fine, as we have had the pleasure of 6 movies to marvel at the uniqueness of their world. Now we know it, we know this world, and we embark on a very different journey as our trio are challenged, both as characters and actors, to tell and share a difficult story. They are up to the task. They have matured as actors and in their roles, and as we watch them blazing a path looking for those horcruxes, we find ourselves even more drawn into their dynamic. The supporting cast is brilliant as usual. Mr. Feinnes, is wonderfully frightening. Jason Issacs shows the less confident side of Malfoy, and David O'Hara has a fantastic turn as a Polyjuiced Harry. Everyone who you expect to be part of this wonderful event showed up. And we are thrilled that they did. But this is really the story of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. If I've any criticism, it would be that they spent perhaps a bit too much time showing us long shots of the moors and fens and rocks. Beautiful landscape, and the image of isolation and loneliness was understood, but those moments could have been tightened and fewer in number allowing for more details from the book to be shared. That said. A VERY VERY good Movie. 4.5 Stars actually. Can't wait for the next one.

I loved this movie and it was right in line with the book. Slow at parts -as the characters are hiking through the woods and spending a lot of time alone. Hubby was bored, but he isn't as big of a fan.

By far the most true to the actual book it is based on. I was very skeptical that they would be able to pull off dividing this book into two movies. I was wrong. They did it style , class, and respected the original work. IMAX only enhanced the whole experience. My only drawback for this film will be waiting for the conclusion with Part 2.

This latest Harry Potter film followed the book closely, which is what true fans look for. The effects were great, imagery superb and the acting was amazing. Daniel, Emma and Rupert have really come into their own as actors. I cannot wait for the final installment. Too bad it won't happen until next year.

Best yet of the Harry Potter films. Good directing, awesome effects, and fairly true to the book (moreso than the previous versions). I could have easily sat through part 2 without blinking an eye because it didnt seem like 2 hours had passed by!

Cute little innocent Potter is no more! My 6 year loves Harry Potter and has been antipicating this movie. She was disappointed that Harry does nothing else but run from trouble and fight all the time. I liked the drama of the thickening plot, but would recommend that young children go see something a bit more light hearted. Plus 2 1/2 hours was hard for her to sit through... after the first 90 min she was bored. I can't wait for part 2!!!

Awesome movie, however we experienced some technically difficulties with turning the lights off during the IMAX. Approximately 10 minutes of the actual movie went by while the lights shifted from on to off, to front of theater on to back of theater on. Very annoying.

Easily the best Harry Potter movie. Follows most of the book with some scenes being taken out. It is dark, scary, violent, sad, funny, and all of the emotions you can think of wrapped into one action packed extravaganza. Do yourself a favor and go and watch it!

By far, this was my favorite movie to date. I wasn't disappointed at all, in fact it exceeded my expectations. I especially loved the sequence when Hermione was telling the story of the Deathly Hallows. Very creative and visually stunning, while making the tale seem very fairy-storylike. I wish David Yates had made all of the movies. The only problem was the girls behind us that would NOT SHUT UP. It was so distracting.

Harry Potter is a great book and even a greater movie. The Deathly Hallows Pt 1 was sad, exciting, funny and adventurous. I loved this one. Too bad it wasn't the whole one though. I'm excited for the next one.

It was so poignant to watch these beloved characters struggle and depend on one another through their massive struggles. They have grown so much since the first film. Yes the movie was slow in parts but these are the times we see the actors really emote their fear and inner struggles. I loved it!!! My favorite parts: The action parts; the dancing scene, the glimpses in Snape's eyes of his inner horror, the tender way Ron touched Hermione's face, and Harry's deep friendship with Hermione, and the elves; great stuff!!
