I have seen every Harry Potter movie. My family is devoted followers. While I have not read the books, my wife and daughters have. They said that this movie is the one that has followed the book the most. I actually said that this is the worst of the Harry Potter movies, but agred with them it was still a good movie. This movie was fantastic - by far the best of the last 4 films. It stayed very true to to the book in terms of plot, but more importantly in terms of feeling. The sense of friendship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione that was lacking in the last 3 was done really well in this one. This was also the first movie where the sense of the danger Voldemort poses to the world is palpable. You understand why Harry needs to stop him or die trying - there is no alternative. I wasn't expecting much after the last three, but now I can't wait until the final movie.

This movie could have been filled with unimportant filler material, like 1 or 2 of the other movies, but every scene in the movie added to the plot and made sense. The movie was very true to the novel. It left you feeling just as happy/ sad and emotional as the book would have left you. It was more personal, and I must admit less action filled.But it was still a great movie! Some viewers said that the movie just moved too slow, but I think that helps all the viewers that havent read the book. if the director/writers would have left out any important info, viewers would have left the theatre confused. All in all, i thought this was a very worthwhile HP, and will probably rank in as my second favorite, next to The Chamber of Secrets:) Go see it!

Wonderful movie...the closest movie to the book thus far. In keeping with the book... most of the scenes were not as "magical" as in the previous movies. The characters have grown up and are dealing with life after Hogwarts. A bit depressing at times...but well depicted...as it is a time of war after all. This movie would probably be the hardest to follow if you haven't yet read the books...but still worth a see even if you haven't. This is by far the best Harry Potter movie! Looking forward to the next!

The HP7/Pt 1 was pretty good. It ended close to where I expected, kept in much of the crucial storyline (though sadly they did cut Dudley's one shot at being decent, a nice show of unexpected character. There were a few of these type of scenes cut). All it, though, a good job. However, the IMAX theater had the volume set so high (over 90 dB in places, the threshold of pain) that we spent several scenes with our fingers in our ears. A major distraction.

I guess I expected more, especially in the IMAX. We drove about 2 1/2 hrs to see this movie. It was good, but not worth a 2 1/2 hour drive. As usual, the Harry Potter movies are much more closely related to the novels than any other movie/book combinations I have experienced. I would give it a 5 star rating if we had seen it locally, so I guess it deserves a 5 star in the IMAX too.

The screen play was very well written out. The effects were good and the story remained very accurate. The cut off point between the first and second parts was a very appropriate point. This cut off point is made even better if one does not know the entire story. The only complaint i have is that parts of the movie felt rushed through, however this is not a problem because these scenes still explain the story. The camera angles and lighting were good in every scene. The movie lived up to all my expectations

This is by far the best movie of the entire series. While the other movies strayed a bit from the plot in the books, this kept the original story intact. Every scene location looked exactly like the descriptions Rowling gave in the book. In a word DISAPPOINTED. First about me so you understand why I am disappointed in this production. I have seen all the films and read all the books and I am a fan of all of them. My favorites to-date are the final book and for the films Order of the Phoenix. Without being too lengthy here are my criticisms of this film: 1. The editing was horrible. It felt like what it was; a rushed production; the transitions from scene to scene were choppy and incoherent. 2. The screen play was horrible; to be fair this may be a product of the production/editing but I did feel much of the dialogue was, again, rushed. It tried in vain to cover details that belonged elsewhere in the film. 3. I had a bit of a problem with the level of graphic violence and for the first time gratuitous nudity. I am no proud but much of the audience that this franchise is targeted to is under the age of 12. It seemed to me many of the scenes were meant to purely shock (scare) when in the past the same thing was accomplished by allowing the viewers imagination to fill in the blanks. The semi-nude scene with Harry and Hermione seemed in very poor taste and added nothing to the scene. 4. I was also very disappointed that the IMAX production was not in 3D. Warner Brothers stated they canned the 3D because they did not have time to turn out a good product. Well they should have taken more time and pushed off the release and put out a good product 3D or not. That being said I did enjoy the movie, the acting was great and the lighting and set production were perfect for the mood of this part of the story. I hope that Warner Brothers goes back to the editing room and re-cuts this film. There are critical pieces missing that would add maybe 20-30 minutes to the film but would add tremendous value and cohesiveness. I realize that 30 minutes more will push the 3 hour mark and that is very expensive for a production company, but I think this franchise can afford and support it. There is still time for a special re-release prior to the final installment; please don’t let the supporting fans down. *A Note to Parents of Little Fans: Please pre-screen this movie first before you bring your children to see it. There were several small children near me that had issues with many scenes and more parents that had the same issues with their children seeing it.

In keeping with the book, the theme is dark and dramatic setting up for part 2, there are no Hogwarts antics. Let me start by saying my family LOVED the movie and thought it was AWESOME. I am however only giving it 3 stars because when we ordered the tickets on-line it was advertised as 3D Imax, and we were all pumped to see a 3d movie. When we got there I asked where the glasses were and we were informed that it was not in 3D, anywhere with no other explanation. First thing when I got home I was able to look up on line that Warner Brothers pulled the 3d back in October, but I purchased the tix in November and it was still being advertised as 3D on the site when I purchased it. at $15 per person, including my 9 year old child, I felt ripped off and it was a big let down in that respect. Otherwise great movie.

Best picture I have seen in a long time. I got up early and went at a 9:15 AM show so I knew I would have a seat. Simply Awesome and I can not wait until JULY!

This movie was the best in the series so far, it stuck to the book better than any book turned movie I have seen so far. I can't wait for the 2nd part to come out in July.

I am a major Harry Potter fanatic. I have read all of the books several times. The movie was great and portrayed the book well except for a few parts. It kept me interested and definitely awake. Can't wait for the next one! Definitely recommend seeing it.
