This movie turned out to be exactly what I was expecting. A fun way to spend an afternoon. Brandon Routh is perfect as Dylan Dog and his sidekick is really funny. Yes, the effects are what you would see on Supernatural, Charmed or Buffy but, I enjoyed seeing actors in actual make-up and not CGI created monsters. The script could have been better but, all in all, I enjoyed it. Hopefully, if there is a sequel, it will improve on it's weak points and make it scarier.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie is loaded with exposition. I felt like I'd paid to see an audio book. The effect we cheap, the monster were corny, and the story was way too complicated. I am sorry that I went to see it. And, don't get me wrong, I'm the type person that can have a great time at a bad movie. This one lack any entertainment value what-so-ever. They really need to do better. I would have been really really mad if I'd paid full price to get in. Thank heavens I went to a matinee, and only paid $5. Any more than that and Dylan would have had to look over his shoulder!

Could have, should have, would have .... kept rolling around in my mind while watching Dylan Dog. The other thought was .... "where's Buffy"? If not for the occasional "not yet allowed on TV profanity" this would have seemed like an average "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" episode. There are some humorous and interesting "genre"scenes (about 10 minutes total when you add them all up) that push it to 2 stars .... just not enough here to make it a "must see" .... or even a "must rent". If you must then do the $1 Redbox thing or a Netflix thing in about 2 months. A pasty, zombie-colored rhino horn down.

I enjoyed this movie. I live in New Orleans so I guess I love seeing any movie filmed here but Dylan Dog was a cool zombie flick. Not scary at all, reminded me of the corny 80's horror flicks. It had it's funny moments, especially his side kick. If you are looking for a fun movie with a hint of horror, this is it!

I rather enjoyed this little romp of a movie. It's not particularly philosophically deep, brooding or mysterious, but I really had a good time with it. Balancing comedy and horror is a very delicate thing, and I have seen LOTS more misses than hits. Fortunately, this movie hits the mark a lot more than it misses. Dylan Dog just wants to be left alone to run his life and his detective agency into the ground while chasing cheating spouses. Unfortunately, the underworld is alive and well in New Orleans (where else?), and its denizens need him to solve a mystery that threatens to launch a war between werewolves and vampires and destroy the whole world. It's just serious and scary enough to keep you interested, and funny enough to keep you from being mired down in the story. The creature effects are surprisingly good for an Indie, and most of the characters give a reasonably good accounting of themselves. I enjoyed it enough so that I would probably buy a copy for myself. Don't expect it to be classic theater, just expect to go and have a good time with it.

Not particularly funny, not particularly creepy or scary, not particularly innovative, not intellectually stimulating, not particularly action packed. But also not really bad. A movie meant for people who work really, really hard in life and when they want to relax, they would like to be able to be entertained while being almost brain dead. A movie meant for people who are bored and just need something to do, even if that means sacrificing 1hr and 47mins of your life to the occult. But it was okay, I guess, particularly for the cheap matinee.
