I'm not sure who this movie is trying to target. You have the three kids, one an absolutely delightful little girl around 10, but then the movie centers around cocaine and oral sex. If that's what the movie is about, why have kids in it? And if you want to have kids in it, then get rid of the sex and drugs and have it focus on something else. I'm no prude but the opening scene just shouldn't be in a movie where three of the four central characters are under 13 or so. Now with that said, the movie had its funny moments, and I always think Jonah Hill is good. I just think they should have either gone total R-rated and gotten rid of the kids, or kept the kids and gone PG-13.

The sitter is pure adult entertainment! Funny, great dialogues and Jonah Hill is excellent! The only thing that annoyed me is the terrible adopted kid, who almost ruined my connection with the movie.

The sitter is a weak remake of Adventures in Babysitting. Its opening scene involves Jonah Hill in a totally gratuitous and unnecessary sex scene with a girl who won't reciprocate. It had nothing to do with the remainder of the film, which actually was cute and at times funny. This is a film that in better hands could have succeeded. It's not the worst film ever made, but your money would be better spent elsewhere. Anywhere elsewhere! Really.

The movie was funny. It had poor dialogue in parts of the movie. Probably would be a movie I would tell people to rent, not see in the theatres.

If you like Jonah Hill, you will enjoy this...he is perfect in a role that he has mastered...the insecure, but snarky geek who can't catch a break. We laughed throughout, ..the whole audience (3/4 full at late showing..in 3 theatres same complex ), seemed to enjoy it...a lot of laughing....the barroom scene was a big hit. Surprisingly, the kids were pretty funny...cute, but not too cute. Better than many comedies we have seen in the last year.
