I thought this movie followed the book closely. Started slow but having read the book knew what was coming and couldn't contain the anticipation. Kept me interested and the ending for Part 1 was at the right spot. Cannot wait for Part 2.

It stayed quite true to the book and hit on the best scenes. It was very well done. Even the acting was better. This was my favorite book and by far my favorite movie of the Twilight Series. Can't wait for Part 2 and Stephanie please be working on a follow up.

Knowing the history of how bad the previous movies and books were, I'm still trying to figure out how I got suckered in to this one. How horrible. How embarrassing. The CGI werewolves were laughable. The running scenes were cheesy. Overall the movie was just a way to throw $21 away and lose some brain cells. Probably would have been better if I was completely wasted and I don't even touch the stuff.

This movie is a must-see for all Twilight and non-Twilight fans! Such great romance, action and suspense all built into one movie. It'll have you laughing, crying and then cheering for joy! I will definetly be seeing this more than once! :)

Although truly a beautiful cast, the spotlight was on Bella for the better part of the first half hour. A multitude of closeups of Kristen Stewart's not extraordinary features was a bit much to the point of boring. So many scenes had lengthy camera shots of faces and most of the characters standing around looking pretty with not much to say. There were some humorous lines to help keep a midnight audience from toally falling asleep. The run time could have easily been shortened to 90 mins. That said, the story did depict the essence of the book well. However, those who viewed the movie with a friend, never having read the series, could be lost in the lack of translation (i.e. the wolves communicating via telepathy when so many present day movies have animals actually speaking with mouths moving). The set was lavish and sensuous. Both homes, on Isle Esme and the Cullen home, are eveything you could imagine from the books. The wedding was only so, so for all the hype (the dream wedding more what you would expect, with a great twist). Bella's mother is a non-entity, just as depicted in the book, The woman receives a wedding invitation for her 18 year old daughter (are you kidding me?) and just gushes her profound happiness, when her own "too young" marriage to Bella's father ended in divorce. At least Charlie has the gumption to show that he thinks this is all too wrong, even though he can't quite put it into words. The honeymoon bedroom scenes are everything a "tween to 35 year old single woman" would anticipate even though this viewer found it uncomfortable to watch with such young people who thought nothing of the message conveyed. The pregnancy and eventual birth was done well with very visually disturbing images, no spoiling the scenes here, just be prepared. Bella's subsequent death and becoming a vampire are stunning and a realistic transformation. The scenes and musical score are what make this movie worth watching on the big screen in the theatre but if you're not a fan of the series wait for it on DVD.

I've always enjoyed these films as guilty pleasures. The plot, dialogue, acting, direction, everything is so bad I can't help but enjoy it. But this film is different than the others. There is basically no plot until the last half hour of the film. NOTHING happens. Even the hardcore fans at the midnight screening seemed to be getting a little bored and restless.

Visually beautiful and astonishing wedding scenes! Best of the 4 so far. Suspenseful even after having read the books a year ago. Makes me want to move to Forks. Beautiful love story. Cannot wait for Part II.

This movie was awesome!! They kept to the book more so than in the other movies (in my opinion). Nothing will ever top the books, but this one was better than the others!! The only thing I can say is I think the wolves looked better in the other movies...the seemed more fake in this one. I cannot wait to see how Bella turns out on screen as a vampire!! TEAM EDWARD!!

The movie was fabulous. I was real curious after reading the book how they were going to keep the rating from being R but they did it barely.

Definitely the best of the Twilight series. Wedding was beautiful and Bella's CGI wasting FX amazing. Didn't care for the wolf "talking" and CSI venom-in-the-blood-vessels effects, but overall extremely compelling. Much deeper character development. Of course, would have loved more of the honeymoon scenes. Will be seeing it again...and again.

Everything was GREAT! Short wait in line till we were allowed to go into viewing room. All the attendants, etc. were awesome and on the ball! The movie was FANTASTIC from beginning to end. Most would agree that what is portrayed in a movie is never like what you picture in your mind when reading the book. In this case, I felt that the portrayal of 'imprinting' was really impressive as that is by no means an easy detail to explain let alone put a visualization to. I did feel the voices in the wolves heads were, at times, a little 'odd' but I can't say that I would have a better idea to portray how the pack would communicate with each other. The book/storyline is one that I, like so many others, just really loved so watching it all come to the big screen is just icing on the cake.
